MAC All About Plum Look In A Box

MAC All About Plum Look In A Box

Long time, no post! The past month and a half has been crazy busy, so my blog has unfortunately taken a seat in the back. But not to worry because I have plenty of new posts ready!

About a month ago I was on the MAC website and came across the new “Look In A Box” range, and instantly fell in love… And bought one. I haven’t had a lot of opportunities to use it yet, but so far I am loving the things I have tried. The one I got is called “All About Plum” – It was an easy decision because all the rest were sold out! It comes with two blushes, six eye shadows, two lipsticks, and a double ended brush. It also wasn’t too pricey: only $115! Now onto the photos…

Today was the best day I have had in a long time! I went to Cradle Mountain with my three sisters, my mum, and some close family friends. And it was snowing! It was the second time I have ever seen snow, so I was like an excited little kid! I thought I would just share some photos of what we got up to… Enjoy!

First we stopped at the Information Centre to have some lunch.

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm Review

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm Review

IMG_0580

At the end of my Fiji trip, we were in the airport to go home and I had a small amount of money left to spend. Without thinking I walked straight to the makeup counters! After hearing all the hype about these, I thought I’d try them out. The moment I swatched them onto the back of my hand, I was impressed. They are really pigmented and rich, with a “balm” like texture, just as the name suggest. There is also a large colour range to choose from, so it made it hard to narrow down! I only have three currently, but I am keen to try some more colours. The staying power is also considerably good. I put some on before going out for a meal and towards the end it had barely moved. I also find that the crayon-like shape makes it much easier to apply and get a nice, defined lip line. If you’ve heard all the great reviews, but still aren’t convinced, check them out for yourself and I promise you won’t be disappointed! Please comment below if you have any other great colours that I might be interested in trying!

220 – Showy Flamboyant – A bright, blue-toned pink.

245 – Audacious – A bright coral, with a hint of orange.

210 – Unapolagetic – A muted pink, with a hint of red.

MAC Haul & Review

MAC Haul & Review

Image

I’m am super excited about this post! I have been meaning to do it since I got home from Fiji and I’ve finally gotten around to doing it! So when we walked into the international airport I wasn’t expecting too many shops or anything… But as soon as we got through the door I saw the MAC counter, and oh my, I was excited! I was planning to buy some ugg boots but that certainly did not happen! The first time I went to the counter I bought three products, but after tea we still had some time left… So I went back and bought some more! Let’s not actually talk about how much this would have cost though… All in all I was super excited because it was the first time I had brought MAC products. The closest place to buy it is five hours away from where I live! So this post will be a review / haul on all the stuff that I bought. Let’s get on with it! Enjoy…

Studio Fix 2

The first thing I bought, and actually needed, was the Studio Fix pressed powder in NW20, and I literally have no words for this stuff. It is flipping incredible! It is by far the best powder I have ever purchased. It covers so well even without a foundation underneath which is perfect for school mornings when I’m in a rush. And it stays on all day! It is just the perfect consistency and colour for my skin and I will definitely be buying again when it runs out! I highly recommend this!

Image

So the next thing I picked up was this Mineralize Blush in the colour Azalea in the Afternoon, and it is to-die-for! I actually spent ages looking for a blush colour and this one wasn’t actually on display; the lady working at the counter got it out to show me and I am so glad that she did! It is just a gorgeous pinky rose colour with a hint of gold, and it looks quite subtle on the skin, which is exactly what I wanted. I did think it would be slightly darker, but now I am glad that it isn’t, because I do have a natural blush. I am so happy with this product and would also recommend it, but if you’re going to buy it, be quick because it is limited edition!

Image

The next product is the Matte Eye Shadow in the colour Charcoal Brown. So far I have only used this to fill in my brows and I really like it. It stays on all day, doesn’t smudge and is the perfect colour for my brows! I like to apply it with an angle brush to get a good shape too. If you’re looking for a good shadow to fill in your brows, this is a great choice! I didn’t really see the point in buying one of the brow trios that other brands make because I knew I’d only use one colour, so this is perfect!

Image

The next product I’m not really sure why I bought… There is just something about hot pink lip stick that draws me in! Looking back on it, I wish I had of got a nude pink colour, but none-the-less I still really love this colour. It is the Cremesheen Lipstick in the colour Lickable by the way! I haven’t had a chance to wear this all day yet, but when I did put it on, the consistency and pigment was so amazing, so I am very keen to try this out!

Image

The last thing I bought was the Cremesheen Glass Lip Gloss in the colour Pagoda and it is so gorgeous! I have worn it to school everyday since I bought it! It is quite a sticky lipstick which is a little annoying but I love the colour, which is why I have been wearing it so often still. I also have a lipstick in a similar colour so I will try it over top of that sometime soon. I’m not sure if I would buy this exact product again, I would have to try some other glosses to see if I find anything better!

Above are some swatches of the blush, lip gloss and lipstick in that order.

This last thing isn’t MAC and I didn’t buy it while I was away, but I wanted to share it anyway! I bought this ‘purse’ from Forever New a couple of days after I got back with no idea what I was going to use it for but I decided that it was the perfect thing to put my make-up touch ups in to fix my makeup after school and before work. The outside feels like leather and I absolutely love the floral print on it. The inside is silky and also has a small pocket. It is the perfect size and doesn’t take up too much room in my school bag or hand bag, plus it was only $15, which I thought was cheap for Forever New! Definitely buy this if you’re looking for a new compact make-up bag.

Fiji Day 15 – Cruise & Last Day

Fiji Day 15 – Cruise & Last Day

Bula! Today was the best day ever! We got up early and headed to Denarau to go on a day cruise! We boarded one boat and stopped at a couple of islands to drop other people off before heading to get on our cruise boat, the Sea Spray. We stopped at an island and jumped off the boat with snorkelling gear, ready for the coral reefs! It was one of the best things that I have ever experienced! I wish I had an underwater camera so I could have taken photos, because it was so gorgeous! We swam up onto the beach and sun baked for a while, before getting back onto the boat for lunch. It was one of the best meals I have had while being here in Fiji! There was fish, chicken, potato salad and fried rice… Times like this made me wish I had two stomachs! After lunch we headed to another island where we visited a village and watched yet another karva ceremony, before having a look around the markets, where I bought a cute turtle necklace! Not long after we got back on the boat and jump off the end a couple of times before going back to get on the boat to take us back to Port Denarau. At this time it was dusk so there was a gorgeous sunset to look at while we sat on the top of the three decker boat! After we got sick of being there, we went down to the bottom deck which is right at the front of the boat and we sung multiple different songs the rest of the ride back. Although it was hot and most of us got sunburnt, it was so much fun! It was such an awesome way to wrap up our Fiji trip, it’s going to be hard leaving tomorrow! This will be my last post on my trip in Fiji, so a huge thank you to everyone who has read my blogs!

Fiji Day 13 & 14

Fiji Day 13 & 14

This weekend has been pretty relaxed and easy going, so I decided to put both the days together! On Saturday, we decided to cook an “Aussie” meal for our host families in the village. We went into town to get our supplies and it was possibly the worst shopping experience ever! Way to many people with trollies in crammed isles is not fun. After we got back to the village, we went and watched a game of rugby. I thought it was going to be boring but I actually really enjoyed it! When we got back we cooked up our meal and had it outside under a huge tree. We made spaghetti bolognese, garlic bread and pizza. I think the Fijians liked it, I’m not sure! But they did eat it all! Not long after tea, I went to bed because I was pretty tired! On Sunday we had two church services. The first one was outdoors under a little shelter which was really cool. At one stage there were pigs running around outside, it was quite funny! Our team sung some songs and shared at the church service too. The next church service wasn’t until 5pm and it was in Latoka, which is a half an hour drive away! This service was more modernised and it was heaps of fun. Once again, our team shared and sung a couple of songs. On the way back we stopped to get McDonald’s which was great! When we got back it was fairly late so most of us went to bed! Pictured below is some of the kids in the village before the morning church service.

Fiji Day 11 & 12 – Painting Houses

Fiji Day 11 & 12 – Painting Houses

Fiji Day 11

Thursday is here! Today was our first full day in the new village and it was a heap of fun! We got up at 7 abs had some breakfast before we set to work painting the houses! Thankfully I got the job of painting all the window frames so it’s a pretty easy job! We did this until about lunch time because it was getting too hot to work. After lunch we went to the beach, and as nice as it was, there were heaps of stingers in the water so we didn’t spend long in there. After we dried off we got some ice cream then headed back to do more painting in the cool evening! After we finished the first coat we had some tea. To finish off the night we played rugby with the boys which wore us all out, so soon after we all went bed!

Fiji Day 12

I can’t believe it’s already Friday! Today was very similar to yesterday! We spent the first half of the day painting the houses again and we got pretty close to finishing them. We had a lunch break then we also had an Anzac Day service. After this we went into Nadi and we got henna tattoos! We then did a little bit of shopping, before going to Denarau and doing even more shopping! I managed to finish off all the shopping for my family and got some things for myself too. When we got back to the village we finished off painting the houses, which was earlier than we expected! It’s not quite the end of the night yet but I’ll end this here, I’ll probably just have a shower and go to bed anyway!
